front entrance garden designs
Leff Landscape Associates, Inc. creates welcoming front entrance gardens with curb appeal and style. “Curb appeal, please” was the request from the owner of this new Bed and Breakfast in Bodega Bay, Sonoma County. The original entrance way (previously located on the left), was dark and difficult to find, and was a hazardous walkway for guests arriving after nightfall. The new entrance was relocated and now is revealed to visitors. New lighting was designed around the stair, which was then surrounded by lovely drought-hearty and seacoast tolerant plantings.
This is how the property looked like before Leff Landscape arrived. The entrance was located on the left, behind the shrubbery.
The end product has a safe and clear entry. The old plantings were removed and slat tolerant plants, appropriate for the conditions in Bodega, are thriving. Grasses move with the wind, and the textures and colors all harmonize with the surrounding sea scape.
As the removals began, the project went from bad to worse. Notice how the propane tank is obscured in the photo above, and the side steps have added safety with a sturdy railing.
Several small rock retaining walls were added to control erosion. The rocks were found on site, and re-purposed.
