Hgtv and staging
Description: Leff Landscape Associates is an award-winning landscape design and construction firm serving clients in Marin, Sonoma and Napa Counties. Through garden demonstrations at the San Francisco Garden Show and repeated appearances as a guest on two HGTV television shows, Louise Leff has demonstrated her abilities to stage for Instant Appeal. On the program Landscape Smart, Louise demonstrated the process of constructing a variety of individual projects. For the program Curb Appeal, Louise transformed boring and unwelcoming house entrances into welcoming, safe and attractive gateways.
This home entrance was transformed from a boring, unadorned walk into an interesting garden by adding wall decorations to the side of the house.
Borrowed from the French, this trellising technique called “tromp l’oeli” (meaning fool the eye) gives the false impression of a larger, three dimensional space. The fountain in the middle as a focal point adds a sweet sound of trickling water and the whole space is soothing and welcoming.
Created in 2003, just after the start of the war in Iraq, this “staged garden” at the San Francisco Garden show was meant to represent the triumph of nature over turbulence. The title was “Serenity on a Fault Line”. It showed that it is possible to have serenity even when everywhere sometimes feels like “fault lines”.
A simple bench swing brightens up an otherwise dull corner.
A small recirculating pond adds dimension and interest to this back patio.
Created for the San Francisco Garden Show, this is an example of plantings and entertainment areas in an Oak Woodland.
