Masonry styles can vary from one artisan to another as much as a painting can vary from one painter to another.  As with all other aspects in landscape design, the masonry style should be in accord with the entire garden. Brick often lends a formal look.  Natural stone can be incorporated for rustic feels, and flagstones are great for casual paths or terraces.  The choices of rocks for walls are carefully selected to fit into their contexts in the landscape.
